dedicated to enhancing the lives of every Life Centers of Kansas client

To enrich the lives of clients served by Life Centers of Kansas through fundraising, collaboration with LCKS management, education for families and guardians, and support for better communication across our community.

Vision

FFLCKS will be a visible, contributing presence — sustaining fundraising success, growing our organization, pursuing outside grants, and increasing family and guardian involvement.


Mission commitments

Fundraising that helps improve quality of life for all LCKS clients, especially those with little or no family or external support.


Collaboration with LCKS management to identify and fund agreed-upon initiatives within the scope of our nonprofit status.


Information and education to help families and guardians plan health, financial, advocacy, and life-planning initiatives.



Better communication to help board members, parents, and guardians get to know one another and share experiences.

Previous Accomplishments

Sun Shades for the day service center

Shades to enhance the outdoor experience and provide comfort.


Technology for the day service center

FFLCKS donated 10 iPads to launch the new day service facility's technology center.


Client-led meal program

Clients learned to prepare meals that were served across all group homes once a month.


2022 Annual Campaign

Netted over $12,000 for LCKS clients.


Food pantry, 2018–2022

Established in November 2018; a pilot nutrition-education program for house managers was funded in 2022.


Angel Tree & holiday meals

Christmas gifts and Christmas Day meals funded for clients in need.


Client Needs Program

Donated clothing, bedding, hygiene supplies, and other necessities to clients with little or no support system.


Annual Golf Tournaments
Netting over $30,000 per year


Website & Facebook launch

Designed, developed, and launched FFLCKS's online presence.

Board of Directors

All Directors are family members and/or guardians of a special-needs adult receiving services from Life Centers of Kansas.

Dan Terrill, Chairman

Joined the board after enrolling his son, Brian, in the day program. Brian loves every day spent there with new friends and caregivers. Dan looks forward to helping improve clients' lives.

Kellie McCracken, Treasurer 

She joins the board with firsthand experience of Life Centers through her son, Dominic. She is passionate about supporting its clients, families, and mission. Kellie looks forward to bringing her personal perspective and commitment to the board.

Tracy Hadel

Inspired by her son with autism, she is dedicated to supporting adults with special needs through Life Centers’ Day Program and residential homes, while enjoying time with her family and two dogs.

Cathy Jurgensmeyer

Her son Luke is a client in the day program and has Angelman Syndrome, a rare neurogenetic disorder. Cathy is excited to work alongside other board members to help FFLCKS reach its goals

Kellie McCracken, Treasurer 

She joins the board with firsthand experience of Life Centers through her son, Dominic. She is passionate about supporting its clients, families, and mission. Kellie looks forward to bringing her personal perspective and commitment to the board.

Kim Morse

Her son is at the Mohawk House and in the Day Program. A founding member of the Autism Society of Johnson County, Kansas (est. 2001). "It is truly our honor to be part of this wonderful community."

Jodi Tromba

Her daughter Bri has been part of the Day Program since 2021 and loves it. "Excited to learn how to support families & guardians with information and resources, and to help this community in any way I can."

Amy Williams

Joined after her son became a client of the residential program in 2021. When she learned about FFLCKS's mission and activities, it felt like a great fit for her family.

Fundraising

Golf Tournament each October and the Valentine's Day Annual Campaign.


Celebrations

Halloween & Valentine's Day parties with a DJ for Day Service and Residential clients.


Family Support

Biannual meetings for parents and guardians, plus guest speakers and our annual meeting.


Client Activities

Ongoing funding for social activities for both day and residential clients.


Memorial Gifts

Funding available for memorial gifts on behalf of clients.

Sensory Room

Evaluating support for a sensory room at the Day Service for clients with autism.
