Thank you in advance for your generous support that allows us to make a difference.
In 2020 we are raising goals for the following projects.
Client Need Fund – purchasing clothing, shoes, bedding, and other necessities for our clients with minimal resources. They receive only $776 per month earmarked for rent, utilities, transportation, food, dental, vision, with not enough left to make even the smallest purchases for personal care products and, at the time, a pair of socks.
FFLCKS Food Pantry – distributing high-quality foods and nutrition information to 90 residents in 16 group homes each month. Our efforts supplement the $150 per month, $37.50 per week, each residential client pays for food. This rate has been in place since 1999. Today's prices in 2020 are 54.39% higher than average prices since 1999. $150 in 1999 would equate to $231.58 in 2020 Home Liaison Program – implementing educational and recreational activities for residents in all 16 group homes. Everyone deserves to have fun, to experience all that life has to offer. From birthday parties, hayrides, bbq's, to outings for plays, musical events, pool parties, and more, our clients enjoy time celebrating life.
When you ask someone what they would like for Christmas and the only thing on their list is a pair of socks, you pause for a moment. They don't have anyone to even purchase some needed items, and while everyone at Life Centers does everything possible to make everyone's life so much better, the residents could use a bit more. Another resident only asked for a pink toy bunny. One of our dedicated parents searched all over and finally found a pink toy bunny. Over half of the residents have no family member coming to visit, or taking them on adventures, like a trip out for fun. That is what we are trying to do with our programs.
Our food pantry program provides additional healthy foods for each of the residential homes. Remember, the majority of LCKS residential clients eat 85-90 meals per month at their group home. That is $1.75 or less per meal. These clients cannot afford more than their assessed rent and food per month.
We have other programs we would like to implement and with your help will make it possible.
With your help we can achieve our mission to provide programs that allow our residents to live, thrive and enjoy their lives. .
